Set up the AxCrypt browser extension

Install the AxCrypt Password Manager browser extension, sign in, unlock your encrypted vault, and use autofill while browsing.

Before you begin

Check compatibility

  • Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or another Chromium-based browser
  • AxCrypt account
  • Password Manager access
  • Master password to unlock encrypted vault data

Download options

Choose the right installer

Use the recommended package for your device, or choose a specific package when your setup requires it.
Microsoft Edge Install from Microsoft Edge Add-ons. Install for Edge Google Chrome Install from the Chrome Web Store. Install for Chrome Firefox Firefox support is planned for a future browser extension release. Coming soon Safari Safari support is planned for macOS users in an upcoming release. Coming soon

Install the extension

Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons or Chrome Web Store listing, add the AxCrypt Password Manager extension, then pin it to your browser toolbar.

Sign in and unlock

Sign in with your AxCrypt account, then enter your master password to unlock encrypted passwords, cards, and secure notes locally.

Use autofill

Open a sign-in page, select the matching saved account from the extension, and fill credentials without manually typing them.

Save or update items

When the extension detects new or changed login details, review the prompt before saving a new password or updating an existing item.

Helpful notes

Best practices

  • Pin the extension so it is easy to access from your toolbar.
  • Use Suggest Password in Password Manager when creating stronger passwords.
  • Lock the extension when using a shared or unmanaged computer.
