- 64-bit Windows is recommended for the latest desktop app

- Separate arm64 and x64 packages are available when needed

- Wine and Mono are not required for the current Linux app

Choose the right package
AxCrypt is available through stores and direct downloads, with business-friendly installers for managed devices.
Microsoft Store
Recommended for Windows users who want store-managed installation and updates.
Direct desktop installers
Use MSIX on Windows, PKG on macOS, DEB on Ubuntu/Debian and RPM on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Managed deployment
Windows MSI packages are available for IT teams that need silent installation and wider rollout control.
Mobile stores
Install the mobile apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play for secure file access on the go.
Technical note
Built on current app technology
The latest AxCrypt apps use a modern .NET 10 foundation. This helps keep the app compatible with current operating systems and gives users a consistent experience across desktop and mobile devices.
Not supported
Older operating systems
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows RT, older Windows 10 builds and older macOS releases are not supported by the latest AxCrypt app. If you must work with an older system, use a legacy build from the section below or the full legacy downloads page. On Linux, use the supported Ubuntu/Debian or Red Hat package instead of older Wine or Mono workarounds.
Legacy downloads
Older app downloads
Use this section only for AxCrypt 2.x compatibility. For AxCrypt 1.x and older releases, go to the full legacy downloads page.
AxCrypt 2.x only
This requirements page lists legacy AxCrypt 2.x builds for users who cannot run the latest app.
Older releases
AxCrypt 1.x and very old Windows builds are maintained on the full legacy downloads page.
Use only if needed
Install the current AxCrypt app whenever your operating system supports it.
Version 2 legacy
Windows
Use this version only when the latest AxCrypt app cannot run on the Windows device.

Use this version only when the Mac cannot install the current macOS 12+ AxCrypt package.
