How the browser extension works
AxCrypt Password Manager brings your encrypted vault into the browser so you can sign in faster without losing control of your saved data. Account sign-in verifies your identity, and your master password unlocks encrypted passwords, cards, and secure notes locally in the browser.

SoonWhat you can do
Encrypted vault sync
Sync passwords from your AxCrypt account as encrypted data, then decrypt them locally after unlocking your vault.
Autofill matching accounts
Detect username and password fields and show credentials that match the website you are visiting.
Save and update prompts
Review detected form data before saving a new login or updating an existing password item.
Cards and secure notes
Store cards and private notes alongside passwords, with safe handling for sensitive fields such as CVV.
Install, sign in, and unlock
Start by installing the extension and connecting it to your AxCrypt account. Account sign-in verifies who you are; the master password unlocks encrypted vault data in the browser.
- 01 Install the Chrome extension
Use the Chrome Web Store install button, then pin the AxCrypt icon from the browser extensions menu.
- 02 Sign in with your AxCrypt account
Use the same AxCrypt account you use for account.axcrypt.net so the extension can validate your subscription and sync access.
- 03 Enter your master password
The master password unlocks local encrypted vault data. It is not stored as plain text by the extension.
- 04 Let the vault sync
After unlock, the extension downloads encrypted secrets from your account and shows passwords, cards, and notes that can be decrypted locally.
Browse and manage vault items
The Vault page is where you search, open, copy, favorite, edit, and review saved password items. It also supports multiple credentials for the same website.
- 01 Search or filter saved data
Use the search box and filters to find passwords, cards, notes, and favorite items quickly.
- 02 Open an item for details
Click a password to open the detail view, then copy the username, copy the password, open the website, edit, or delete when allowed by your plan.
- 03 Use favorites for priority access
Mark important passwords as favorites so they appear first in the vault and in favorite sections.
- 04 Review security status
Weak and reused password alerts are calculated from your unlocked local vault so you can update risky passwords.
Autofill website logins
When you click a username, email, or password field, AxCrypt detects the current URL and offers matching credentials directly on the page.
- 01 Open a sign-in page
Visit the website where you want to sign in. AxCrypt compares the page URL with saved website addresses in your vault.
- 02 Click the username or password field
The AxCrypt autofill option appears near supported fields. Browser default password options may still appear depending on browser settings.
- 03 Select the right credential
If multiple credentials exist for the same website, choose the correct account before filling.
- 04 Fill and submit
AxCrypt fills the username and password. If a website blocks autofill, use the copy actions from the extension popup.
Save passwords and cards from forms
After a login, registration, or supported card form is submitted, AxCrypt can show a save or update prompt with the detected form values.
- 01 Submit the form normally
Sign in, register, or complete a supported card form on the website.
- 02 Review the detected data
The save prompt lets you check the username, website, password, or supported card values before storing anything.
- 03 Save new or update existing
Save a new item when no match exists, or update the matching saved login when the password has changed.
- 04 Understand card field handling
AxCrypt can fill cardholder name, card number, and expiry date. CVV is intentionally not autofilled.
Important behavior to know
Free or unknown subscription accounts can view existing synced data and create up to 10 passwords. Editing, deleting, cards, notes, and unlimited passwords require an eligible plan.
If the API cannot be reached, the extension can show offline status and use available cached encrypted data after unlock.
Vault data is decrypted in the browser only after the vault is unlocked. Synced secrets are sent to AxCrypt services as encrypted payloads.
Troubleshooting
Check that you are using the master password for this browser vault and the same AxCrypt account used to sync your secrets.
Confirm that you are online, signed in, and that encrypted sync completed successfully.
Refresh the website tab after installing or updating the extension, then click the login field again.
