Set up AxCrypt on Linux
Install AxCrypt on supported Linux distributions using DEB or RPM packages, then sign in and manage encrypted files from the desktop app.Before you begin
Check compatibility
- Ubuntu 25.x or later
- Debian 13 Trixie or later
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or later

Download options
Choose the right installer
Use the recommended package for your device, or choose a specific package when your setup requires it.Choose DEB or RPM
Use the DEB package for Ubuntu and Debian. Use the RPM package for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible managed environments.
Install the package
Install using your distribution's normal software installer or package manager, then open AxCrypt from your applications menu.
Sign in with your AxCrypt account
Use the same AxCrypt account you use on other devices so shared files, passwords, and subscription features remain available.
Encrypt and manage files
Use the AxCrypt app to encrypt, open, decrypt, share keys, and manage protected files across local and supported cloud folders.

Best practices
