Being a Women in Tech

From the Perspective of Women at AxCrypt

As we all celebrate International Women's Day, it is important to recognize the invaluable contributions of women in the tech industry. Traditionally, technology is seen as a male dominated industry. However, in recent years, this industry has welcomed more women breaking barriers and making their mark in the tech world.

Despite facing obstacles such as gender biases and lack of representation, women have persevered and are now making significant strides in the field. In this article, let’s explore the experiences of women in tech, their contributions to the industry, and the challenges they have overcome to get where they are today – all from the perspective of women working at AxCrypt Software. With that, let’s see what each women at AxCrypt has to say about her experience:

I feel proud to be breaking the gender stereotypes about the traditional roles of women and instead becoming more educated and familiar with technology. This has enabled me to become self-sufficient, reliable, and adaptive – when facing different life challenges and situations.

One of the best things about working in the technology sector is the slew of opportunities and possibilities that are presented to you. It allows you to become more flexible and open-minded, while still having an innate curiosity, and the ability to change, adapt, and educate yourself. It makes you grow both professionally and personally, and helps you live a content and purposeful life.”

At AxCrypt, not only do I find fulfilment in my career, but I’m also able to financially support my partner and appreciate the challenges that come with his own job. We mutually complement each other, both in our professional and personal lives, and my parents couldn’t be happier seeing their daughter pursue a career in tech after starting a family.”

Overall, inspiring more women to pursue careers in technology requires a concerted effort from individuals, companies, and society as a whole. By breaking down barriers and promoting inclusivity, we can create a more diverse and innovative tech industry that thrives on the collective efforts of everyone.”

Jency - Operational Director, The Operational Oracle of AxCrypt

“I have been working in the tech industry for the past 20 years – specifically, in the administrative and human resources side of the industry. This is not a job I could have dreamed of as a child, and the tech world didn’t even exist back then.  Bangalore used to be a beautiful tourist destination, until the early 2000s when almost overnight it became the IT hub of India

This was also around the time I was starting out in life in Bangalore was very privileged to be able to grow in the industry while it was still in its early stages. I have had the opportunity to see, learn, and participate on what it takes to build multiple international tech companies from the ground up. Throughout my career, I've made life-long friends from various parts of the world, acquainted myself with diverse cultures, and was even fortunate enough to travel abroad for work.

In the tech industry, there is always something new to learn and ample room for personal and professional growth. Moreover, there is enormous potential to be creative and make a positive impact. For me, working at AxCrypt is the best job ever, and I especially cherish the opportunity it provides.

At AxCrypt, I have the freedom to grow in my role without any limits, and the upper management has fostered a work environment that is friendly yet competitive. What I value most about this workplace is the sense of equality and respect that is deeply ingrained in its culture.”

Despite challenges and stereotypes about women's capabilities in coding and analytical thinking, I have persevered and have seen the importance of diversity in this field. Balancing work and family responsibilities can be difficult, especially for working mothers, but we are capable of multitasking, time management, and keeping up with family values while pursuing our careers.

As Women's Day approaches, I would like to extend my congratulations to all the women in tech and thank them for their remarkable achievements and contribution to the industry.
